Birmingham School Of Acting: The Foundation Of Stars

Birmingham School of Acting is a famous drama school situated in Birmingham, England. It is an institution that specializes in the pre-professional training in the field of drama and theatre arts. The school offers theatre arts subjects such as acting, design and technical theatre.

The school is formerly known as the Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Arts that offered art administration and related subjects. It was then became the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama.

The school was founded in the city of the West Midlands of England in 1936 by its founder Pamela Chapman. Birmingham School of Acting became a faculty of Birmingham City University in 2005 moved from the Paradise Place to a more state-of-the-art facility at the Millennium Point in the city’s Eastside area in 2006.

Birmingham School of Acting became a school of the Birmingham City University’s Faculty of Performance, Media and English. Likewise, the school offers two higher education courses for adults and children. These courses exist with a range of part-time, short courses and summer school activities.

Moreover, the three-year Bachelor of Arts in Acting course and the one-year Diploma course are both accredited by the National Council for Drama Training. The Birmingham School of Acting is duly recognized and a member of the Council of Drama Schools.

Among the alumni of the school is a Scotland actor Nicol Williamson, star in the 1964 John Osborne’s Inadmissible Evidence and a lot more films succeeded. More alumni of Birmingham School of Acting have bloomed and became successful in the movie industry.
